Professor Wilson is a Chichele Professor of the History of War in the Faculty of History and University Academic Fellow at All Souls College, University of Oxford. His research interests are centred on the history of war in wider European and world development from the seventeenth century to around 1900 Early modern German history, particularly the political, military, social, and cultural history of the Holy Roman Empire between 1495 and 1806.
